Our Approach, Pedagogy, Praxis, Benefits & Difference

Our Approach

We are bringing Factual Information and Professional Training to all those interested in animals – whether you work in the industry and a Veterinarian, VN, Veterinary Technician, Animal Attendant or even as a Dog Groomer, Dog Walker or Pet Minder or Transporter. You may also be a volunteer in an animal shelter or Wildlife Rescue Organisation.

Equally we want this level of information to be available to owners of dogs, cats and other species.

We have designed all of our Resourses (eBooks and International Courses) so that they can be accessed on your Laptop or Desktop computer as well as on the move on your phone or tablet – for maximum accessibility.

Our Pedagogy (Educational Rationale)

We take the tried and true approach to teaching and training. We stress Content knowledge and benchmarked skills.

We do not adhere to common forms of Competency-based training that many government systems have opted for – partly because they are cheaper and easier for them to maintain. A further problem with this philosophy is that it centres on what the student is doing their current job to the exclusion of what is best practice in that industry.

Dr Dave, on behalf of TAFE NSW, undertook a Project Fellowship to study Competency-based training in Veterinary Nursing in the UK in 1995. However, by the time he got there, the British had dispensed with the model that Australia was to adopt (and still uses to this day) in favour of a Bench-marked Skills-based and central Theory-based assessment.

Our Praxis (Practical Educational Application)
